Overview
Our team was responsible for transitioning the flagship "Hot Tap" from its initial design to full-scale manufacturing. The first challenge was adapting the existing chiller core - originally designed for cold and sparkling water - to also accommodate a hot water tank. This required redesigning the internal layout and finding innovative solutions to connect the tank to the base, using fixture-free fittings and sheet metal techniques such as stamping. Our team managed the full testing, certification, and accreditation processes. We also worked with suppliers in the Far East, overseeing quality control to ensure the product met market standards. As a result of our work, the T3 Tap launched successfully and remains a key product in the company’s portfolio today.
Methodology
We focused on two main objectives: refining the tap design and modifying the chiller core to support hot water functionality. Collaborating closely with suppliers, we oversaw tooling modifications, implemented quality improvements, and worked alongside purchasing and quality teams to meet strict standards. We partnered with the tank manufacturer to develop a fixture-free tank integration, using advanced sheet metal techniques such as stamping and lancing. To ensure compliance, we carried out extensive electrical testing and coordinated with an external test house for certification. This process guaranteed that the product was fully accredited and market-ready at launch.
